The Campsite

The Fossatún campsite is a centerally located, family friendly place to stay at. Many of Iceland´s most interesting and beautiful places are within a short  minute radius from Fossatún. Ideal to make short trips from and to  return to a beautiful location and excelent facilities.

The map here below shows the setup of the campsite. The campsite is divided into areas Stekkjarvöllur marked with letters from A to J and Fauskvöllur the area furthest away from the restaurant.  

Welcometo Fossatún

• Fossatun is a family based camping area.
• It is divided into two areas Stekkjarvöllur, which has access to electricity and Fauskvöllur, which has not.
• Drunken group gatherings are not allowed and the area should be quiet by midnight.
• Stekkjarvöllur Areas A to I  – Guests are not allowed to park their cars on the grass
• Fauskvöllur and area J – It is allowed to have the car on the grass.
• Guests shall leave the area in the samecondition as upon arrival.
• Driving through is not allowed after 23:30.
• Disturbance to other guests is not tolerated.
• Area can be driven through. In by the restaurant – south and out from north side.
• Dogs are allowed and samerules apply as in populated areas/towns. Dogs should at all times be in lease and not allowed to disturb other gueests with barking, dog shit collected by owner in plastic bags and thrown in garbage containers.
• As for the rest; common sense applies to keep Fossatun a good place for good people.

3 for 2, you arrive on Thursday leave on Sunday and pay for 2 nights

Week offer -Sunday-Thursday

2 for 1, you pay for one night but stay for two.

An spacious outdoors BBQ and an indoors cooking and dining facilities.

Fossatun is an hotspot area both at restaurant and campsite.

Activity – Games

A variety of games and activity for younger and older is available without charge. Trambolines, shuffle board, giant play castle, football field, outdoor bowling, outdoor chess etc. 

Access to playground area is possible for groups that are not guests at the campsite or restaurant. Price is 150 Ikr. for child up to 16 years old and 300 Ikr. for adults. Minimum fee is 5000 Ikr. 

WC and Cleaning facilities

The campsite has excellent WC, shower and hot tub area, including changing rooms for males and females. Plus a whashing macine and a dryer.
